The Silk Skirt and Shrug

I settled on seven dark colors.

Wear them together or mix it up with other pieces in your wardrobe.

They will be available in my Monkey Mall location later today.

Silk Skirt and Shrug

Here is my latest creation. A simple, high-waisted skirt with princess seams and a matching shrug.

Now, all I have to do is name it and decide what colors to offer.

(The tank top is from Sh*t Happens.)

The Holiday Season Approaches

Pixie from Baby Monkey put out a call for holiday presents to be placed under the tree. I decided that with a little added fluff, my last creation would be just right for the holiday season.

The presents are scheduled to be set out after December 1st. I wanted to share a couple pictures of this cute little number. After the 1st you'll be able to pick it up at Baby Monkey.

So, the gift will be top (all layers), bottom (both layers), stockings (socks layer) and fluffy cuffs for the stockings, sleeves, waistband and collar.

As for those boots.... well, I'm still working on them. I think I just need to add a little something to them to make them as perfect as I think I am able.

If you're curious, that wonderful skin is an Eloh Eliot modification created by Pacific Vale.

Silly Costumes and Knit Gloves

I wanted something simple that could be tinted to be just about anything. I came up with this racy little number I'm calling simply "Keyhole." Simple shorts, keyhole top and just-over-the-knee socks. All in an easy to wear jersey fabric.

I'm still working on the colors I'd like for this set. I can say that in a light teal it works great for a sexy doctor or nurse outfit for Halloween.

The keyhole is very overdone, but I think it still comes out sexy. Okay, maybe on the trashy side, but still hot.

Because I just couldn't resist, I also made these quicky knit gloves for winter. I don't think there is much of a market for warm knit-wear in SL, but I like them anyway.

The Sapphire Gown

My friend Concetta mentioned that Saturday was a special day. What to do? I decided to put together a dress for her. I found inspiration in photos from some of the latest fashion shows. This is absolutely nothing like the photo, though. Inspiration is just that. A simple dress in blue was the result.

Ooh! I want one.

All Hallows is coming. Will you be ready?

My friend Concetta and I live in very distant time zones. Not so distant to never see each other, but distant enough that by the time I can log in, it is nearly midnight where she is. I had been joking about her turning into a pumpkin at midnight.

Then... I did.

I shoved some prims about, added some color and ta-da! We're pumpkins.

I will admit that the laughing was amazing. I almost stopped breathing. The upside? I think I added a whole year onto my life with that joyous laughter.

Just today, I added some much better leaves, that a flexi. Most fun I've had in a long time.

Freebie Chic

Who says you can't look good in freebies? Certainly not me. I am an absolute fan of freebie/dollarbie shopping.

I'm in a bit of a dark mood today, so I put together this outfit. I couldn't resist sharing it to show you how easy it can be (for ladies, sorry guys) to put together something nice without spending much at all.

Note: You must forgive me for not being able to tell you the exact cost (0-1L) of each of the items I'm wearing. I pick things up all the time and rarely keep track.

Hair: House of Heart: Asako - silver (Group Gift from August)
Skin: Splendor - Vanillia Licorice Lip Gloss (0L$ for all three skin tones in 11 different make-up options)
Gloves: Sn@tch Long Gloves (Freebie of the week)
Jumpsuit: IBizzare at the Glam Expo
Boots: Atuzoko Boots by ELAN

Fall is Coming

I decided it was time to take another look at my ribbed sweaters. I upgraded the texture on the sweater and created sweaters in a load of colors. These three colors will only be available during the Fall Hunt that will be going on at Baby Monkey and the Monkey Mall starting next Saturday. Bring your mad camera moves over to find the goodies hidden in apples of all sizes. Hint: Look for the tiny, knit fruit to pick up Tee*Squared items.

Contrast

In an effort to avoid working on my current project, I decided to take some pictures and play with color and light. I don't think this image is done, yet. I'll have to get back to you.

Deep Thoughts: Mantri

T*2: Mantri is a simple linen smock I created at the request of a good friend. Mantri is available in six bold colors and six soft colors.

ROYGBIV

While creating a jacket, I found that I had the entire lower section of the bottom layer empty. Not one to waste such wonderful upload territory, I created these simple knee socks. I tinted them in all the colors of the rainbow and set them out for 1L. Pick up some color today!

Neon Teeze

I have built a below-street-level, sleazy (I hope) dance club. I needed a neon sign to go with it, so I worked with GIMP to put this together. Next? Put it on a t-shirt, of course.

I really should be working on other things, but sometimes I just go with the flow.

(If you're wondering about the choice of name, I must humbly give credit where credit is due. When I suggested 'Teasers,' Concetta kindly pointed out that everything edgy must have a 'Z' in it. Also, to keep with my 'Tee-'everything motif, I would have to use two E's. I love advertising, you're never required to know how to spell.)

Devotion

Every evening she would take in the crisp, sea air. Every evening he would follow.

The official entry for the "These Shoes" contest. After about an hour of brainstorming and discussion, we agreed on the photo, the title and the caption.

The runner-up caption: "No, Boynton, I distinctly said 'kippers.'"

On the Beach Revisited

I went back to the beach with Concetta. This time, the picture idea was all her's. Loosely based on the work of Jack Vettriano. After learning of his art, I've discovered that I really like it.

The first image was an experimentation with color, or the lack of color. I pulled out the female form, made the original image gray scale and overlaid the colored female form. They sky had a little help, as well.

The second image uses color to extremes. I darkened the sky and put highlights on the water. Of the two, I like the second one best.

I have to thank Concetta again for all her patience. She stood around for over an hour while I moved my camera around and clicked away at anything even remotely interesting.

Just one parting shot. While I didn't think this last one was a good candidate for the "These Shoes" contest, I did think it was a very nice picture. The only editing was some color correction and a crop.

By the way... If you think I am making the completely wrong choice with these pictures, pleas, please, speak up.

Am I Blue...

To prepare for Hair Fair 2008, Barbara changed her skin, removed all her clothing, hair and all attachments. She broke down in tears when she realized her lovely shoes had to go, too.

Yes, I know, I took a bunch of pictures with Concetta for the "These Shoes" contest. I just wasn't happy with my editing, yet. I also didn't have any time today to work on it. So, I threw this together to meet the deadline.

On the Beach

Lacking the option of going into SL, I sat down to work on my latest image for the "These Shoes" contest. Again, I enlisted the help of my wonderful, smart and witty friend Concetta.

Now all I need is a cute caption. Oh, yeah, and a couple more hours in editing.

Hair Fair 2008

Today I managed to convince my friend Concetta to strip down to her underwear, take off all her attachments, including her hair and accompany me to Hair Fair 2008. After a short time, wandering with our silly walks, we each rezzed a cube, sat, and began the true process of shopping.
I must admit, when you're standing there in your Hair Fair 2008 skin, or some other simple skin, you just growl when you see someone moving about with full prim hair and prim shoes.

I was pleased to see a large prim moving past with no less than five avatars aboard. A regular Hair Fair tour bus!

Please, if you're serious about Hair Fair, do us all a favor and take off all those attachments. You'll do yourself a favor, too.

Now, for the truly horrible news. Back at the island, while sifting through my pile of free goodies and demos, there was a horrible accident. That's right, there has been an electronic death in the family. My desktop coughed once, fell down and died. We're pretty sure that the power supply has kicked the virtual bucket. My wonderful tech support is out to find a replacement right now.

On another note... I am currently unable to get into Second Life. It keeps telling me something about log-ins being disabled. Of course the LL status page has nothing to indicate why this is. ((Edit: Of course, if you check the Grid Status it does tell you that things are happening. Not that I can log in, though.)) That means I have no wonderful pictures for you.

As soon as I can get back in-world, I'll take some pictures and post them on my Flickr feed.

Big Hair - Big Star

She had the hair, the clothes and the shoes. Only one more hurdle to that rock star dream... talent.

This is my entry for the Adam n Eve "These Shoes..." contest. It's no Pacific Vale shot, but this is my first try. Just so you don't think I'm bothered by Pacific's fame and (shoe) fortune with the Adam n Eve contest, those socks are Pacific Vale specials.

Pin-Up

After Mae said she had entered the Dollz Magazine pin-up contest, I was intrigued enough to go check it out. I hate to admit it, but I had to go shopping to find something that was appropriate for the pictures. I'd already picked up the hair (Lola) at Comme il Faut during a sale they had earlier this month. I wandered all over the grid, looking for something that I thought was right. I ended up at Ingenue. The lingerie is Be Mine. The shoes are Baby Monkey bow-trimmed pumps.

My wonderful friend Concetta worked like a madwoman to create poses for the photo shoot. I'm certain I'll never get a chance to thank her properly for her help. She helped with the shopping, too. She still thinks I should have picked up some red pumps for this outfit, but I couldn't bring myself to part with the Lindens.

I've worked for a couple days on creating the right look. I'm not sure I've found it, but I just had to share something.

If you'd like to know more about the contest you can check it out at Dollz Magazine. The rules were updated earlier this week.

That's a Wrap

This is my favorite so far. I just had to make this one in several colors.

The Ribbed Sweater

Here is a cute little ribbed sweater in pale colors.

Tulip

I just couldn't get off the sweater kick. I created yet another sweater. This one I've dubbed the Tulip. I created more than a few colors, maybe I got carried away with that, too. Two sets of the same style, one in muted colors, the other bold.

Look for these styles at my new Tee*Squared store.... well, as soon as I get a store up. Wish me luck, I'll need luck to get a store up and running this week.

The Shrug

Pixie at Baby Monkey has set up a Yard Sale. I just couldn't resist the urge to put something out. I had been working on the shrug, a simple clothing item that I wanted and hadn't seen. There are several items out for sale at the yard sale from many different people. Check it out when you get a chance.

Super Hero

Today I created a wonderful outfit for the budding superhero.

I'm also sorry to say that I seem to have misplaced all the wonderful shoe bases that I created to make any superhero taller without interfering with their costume. I'll make another pass through my inventory, but I may just have to go back to the plywood drawing board.

It's funny how you put on a simple costume and you begin to think you're a superhero.

Shiny Pants

Here is a quick shot of my first real texture attempt. Okay, maybe it isn't an honest attempt.

I utilized the .psd files from Eloh Eliot to get an idea of where the highlights and lowlights should go on the lower body part of the female avatar.

Also shown:
Skin: FabFree -Tropical Breeze (moles)
Eyes: Brown eyes from Sh*t Happens
Boots: FreeDove buckled calf-boots
Belt: DM Flower Belt (black)
Top: Pacific Vale - Medea top
Pants: Barbara Teebrook
Hair: Calla - Daylily Brunettes (Mocha)

Tomorrow I'll try making something more useful than shiny pants.

Left Out

I just couldn't handle it any more. There I was, living the Second Life, without a blog. How is it possible you ask? Actually, I just couldn't stand it any more. Between my inventory going horribly out of control and my building going up a notch, I just had to find a way to vent. So, here we are with my brand new blog to catalog the crazy stuff I create in the virtual world.

As soon as I find myself back In World, I'll take some pictures to go with this blog. Until then, you will have to wait.

I have wandered off into a new area of Second Life. I have started playing with textures. Of course, that means the city isn't getting built, skyboxes are going unmade and I will never master the creation of prim hair.

Ah, well, I'm sure I'll survive it all.
